Your role and responsibilities

Senior Data Scientist, IBM Corporation, Research Triangle Park, NC (Up to 40% telecommuting permitted):

  • Implement artificial intelligence and machine learning strategies to maximize business value and advance enterprise objectives.
  • Design, build, and maintain models that drive decision-making while ensuring seamless integration and scalability through robust model pipelines.
  • Source and clean data to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Drive rigorous release management processes to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Uphold Data Science standards across the organization to promote excellence.
  • Demonstrate expertise in data processing, machine learning algorithms, statistical models, and visualization techniques using Python and relevant packages.
  • Make informed suggestions about trade-offs between business needs and expected time to value, especially for incremental model changes.
  • Leverage expertise in company's products and environments, including the Watsonx suite, to effectively manage and analyze large, complex datasets.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including sourcing of business requirements, their translation into data science tasks, as well as to report solution design and performance.
  • Contribute to company's key initiatives on assigned projects and apply artificial intelligence and machine learning to drive innovation and growth.
  • Manage multiple concurrent efforts to deliver impactful results that align with organizational goals.
  • Utilize: Python, Watsonx.ai, Watsonx.data, Cloud Pak for Data, DB2, COS (Cloud Object Storage), DataStage.

Required: Master's degree or equivalent in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master's degree) and one (1) year of experience as a Data Scientist or related. One (1) year of experience must include Python, Watsonx.ai, Watsonx.data, Cloud Pak for Data, DB2, COS (Cloud Object Storage), DataStage. $153733 to $187600 per year. Full time. H244.
