JOB TITLE: SR INFORMATION SECURITY ANALYST
JOB LOCATION: COLUMBIA, MD
WAGE RANGE*: $72.00-76.00 PER HOUR

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Knowledge of FIPS 140 requirements
  • Knowledge of cryptographic encryption algorithms, key exchange algorithms, hashing/message authentication algorithms, PKI, random number generators, etc.
  • Experience with various programming languages (C, C++, Python or Java) and development environments.
  • Ability to comprehend security standard requirements and apply them to products.
  • Knowledge of common security related protocols and their design (i.e. SSH, IPsec, TLS, etc.).
  • Experience building testing environments, performing testing and reporting results (technical writing).
  • CVP Certified Tester
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong multitasking and time management.

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Designs, develops or recommends integrated security system and physical control solutions that will ensure proprietary/confidential data and systems are protected.
  • Provides technical engineering services for the support of integrated security systems and solutions to manage information-related risks.
  • Participates with the client in the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into technical designs.
  • Configures and validates secure systems and physical controls, and tests security products and systems to detect security weakness.
  • SCOPE:
    • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives.
    • Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules.
    • Establishes and recommends changes to policies which affect subordinate organization(s).
    • Provides guidance to others to achieve goals in accordance with established policies.
  • PROBLEM COMPLEXITY:
    • Works on complex problems where analysis of situation or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
    • Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • IMPACT:
    • Contributions are usually limited to assignment related activities.
    • Decisions or failure to achieve results may cause severe adverse business/schedule impact.
  • LIAISON:
    • May interact with senior management on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
    • Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations.
  • FREEDOM TO ACT:
    • May be responsible for the technical direction, leadership, and training of less experienced staff.
    • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
  • LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT:
  • KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY:
    • Having complete knowledge of this field and is able to handle seldom and unusual occurring job events.
    • Ability to complete complex and difficult assignments.
    • May determine methods and procedures on new assignments and provide guidance to nonexempt personnel.
    • Knowledge of assigned product(s), company functions, service policies and procedures and good communication skills.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent and 8+ years related experience.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • Experience with VHDL and Verilog languages.
  • Experience with debugging (GDB, WinDBG, Visual Studio, etc.).
  • Experience with statistical analysis of entropy sources.
  • Knowledge of OpenSSL and/or OpenPGP.
  • Vulnerability Analysis and/or penetration testing experience/expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of computer security principles and best practices.
  • Strong English (both oral and written) skills.
  • Related certifications (CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP/JNCIE).
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Linux.
  • Hands on experience using tools such as an oscilloscope, function generator, multimeter, signal generator, etc.
  • Knowledge of X.509 certificates and their attributes as well as protocols such as CDP and OCSP.
  • Experience setting up networks and familiarity with subnets and routing.
