job summary:


  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience scheduling/administering/supporting the TWS/z software or other Mainframe schedulers such as CA7/Control-M in a large multi LPAR/multi SYSPLEX batch environment. Must possess an excellent understanding and knowledge of JCL/REXX/VSAM, catalogued procedures and standard batch processing. Must understand the use and application of the various databases within the scheduling software.
  • This position will respond to technical questions from clients regarding all aspects of the scheduling software and its capabilities. Must be able to apply database changes with a high degree of accuracy in desired timeframes using established Release Management approval, deployment tools, and best practices.

responsibilities:


  • Must ascertain through research and knowledge the scope of issues and understand the impact while deciding and taking corrective actions in high risk circumstances.
  • This position will review and test new releases and enhancements of the software code in order to verify advertised functionality. Additionally this position typically investigates and implements new functionality into production and performs related project work.
  • The incumbent is charged with having a detailed knowledge of all uses of the automated scheduler in the host and agent environments and will be required to support instances of the software in development (IDE) and QA environments. Additionally this position will be tasked with supporting a number of in-house tools such as Corpcal, PODS, and Universal Rates Repository.
  • This position will be required to provide 24x7 support. This position will review and test new releases and enhancements of the software code in order to verify advertised functionality. Additionally this position typically investigates and implements new functionality into production and performs related project work.


qualifications:


  • The incumbent is charged with having a detailed knowledge of all uses of the automated scheduler in the host and agent environments and will be required to support instances of the software in development (IDE) and QA environments. This position will be required to provide 24x7 support. There may be 10% travel for this position.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience scheduling/administering/supporting the TWS/z software or other Mainframe schedulers such as CA7/Control-M in a large multi LPAR/multi SYSPLEX batch environment. Must possess an excellent understanding and knowledge of JCL/REXX/VSAM, catalogued procedures and standard batch processing.
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables with various time deliveries from days to months. Strong Mainframe z/OS, JCL, TSO, ISPF skills. Release/Change Tool (Endevor/ISPW/Remedy/ServiceNow) User experience.


skills:

  • Ability to work closely with clients to resolve Tool issues. Mid-level knowledge of IBM Utilities i.e. IEBCOPY, IEBGENER, etc. Good communication skills, both written and oral are required as the individual must interface with application developers, support teams, software vendors and management staff.
  • The successful candidate will be required (after suitable training) to participate in a 24x7 Oncall rotation and be required to provide off hours support as necessary.
  • Working knowledge of Job Scheduling, product support and administration with the CA7/CA11 tool set. Working knowledge of Web applications/JAVA/Javascript(NodeJS/REACTJS/AngularJS)/ PL-SQL preferred but not required. Working knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices. Design/Develop and maintain databases using Oracle/DB2 SQL. Write SQL queries, stored procedures and optimize database performance. Ability to work with CI/CD tools/pipelines.
