Description
SAIC is seeking a Engineering Technician I to support our Mobility Platform Integration program under the Navy Seaport contract at NSWC Crane . This part time/casual, onsite position is based out of SAIC's Bedford, Indiana facility.
This person performs one or a combination of such typical duties as:
- Tool and Power Tool Usage: Utilize a variety of hand tools and power tools for equipment assembly and maintenance tasks.
- Assembly Building: Construct simple mechanical and electrical assemblies with accuracy and efficiency, often without direct supervision.
- Metrology Device Readings: Accurately read and interpret a variety of metrology devices (such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges) to ensure precision in measurements.
- Physical Activity: Remain on one's feet for prolonged periods and move around the facility as needed to perform tasks.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of work performed, including assembly instructions and measurement readings.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct basic quality control procedures to ensure the integrity and functionality of the assembled products.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering team to support ongoing projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- AA Degree in related discipline; Or, High School and up to two (2) years of related experience.
