The Cloud Architect will have experience designing, building, and managing both on-premises and cloud-based systems, with a strong working knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. This role will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure a seamless, efficient, and secure environment for software development, testing, and deployment. This position reports directly to the Director of Infrastructure and Security.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement efficient automated DevOps pipelines for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
Identify and deploy DevOps tools in alignment with project needs.
Integrate various parts of software engineering to improve communication, collaboration, and product efficiency.
Monitor, analyze, and manage technical operations to ensure optimal performance and system health.
Develop and maintain documentation for DevOps processes, including design and process specifications, to ensure a clear understanding for all stakeholders.
Provide guidance and expertise on system options, risk, impact, and costs vs. benefits.
Create disaster recovery plans and conduct regular system backups.
Train and mentor team members on DevOps best practices and new technologies.
Proactively identify potential issues and implement solutions to mitigate the impact on operations.
Coordinate with other departments to identify and prioritize software requirements and timelines.
Design and develop secure cloud and on-premises architectures and infrastructure.
Assess and implement security tools and technologies for both internal and cloud environments.
Perform risk assessments and security audits of systems.
Ensure compliance with industry security standards and regulations.
Respond to security incidents and provide post-event analyses.
Develop and implement security policies and procedures.
Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing of systems.
Implement identity and access management controls for both internal and cloud services.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent experience.
Proven experience as a Systems Architect or similar role.
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Azure.
Extensive experience with DevOps practices and tools.
Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline design and implementation.
Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to train and mentor junior team members.
Experience with security frameworks and best practices for both internal and cloud environments.
