Consults with internal business groups to provide high-level application software development services or technical support. Must have thorough and demonstrative knowledge on or both the user-side frontend of a website, as well as the backend, server-side that powers the user-side. Additional requirements include intermediate understanding of security principles, relational databases and architecture design principles. Provides comprehensive senior-level technical consulting to IT management and senior technical staffs. Evaluates compliance with the organization's technology standards. Programming well-designed, testable, efficient code. Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites. Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to satisfy requirements and solutions. Maintain software functionality and currency (technical debt and gain). Actively participate in code reviews. Integrate software components into a fully functional software system. Apply security and privacy principles. Works with internal business groups on implementation opportunities, challenges, and requirements of various applications. Analyzes information and provides recommendations to address and resolve business issues for a specific business group. Guides and consults with IT management and technical staffs regarding use of emerging technologies and associated services. Participates in defining corporate implementation and integration strategies of new technologies. Active learning engagement. Complete all required mandatory training / policy awareness curricula on time. Use learning tools such as Pluralsight to complete both recommended and aspirational targets set in personal development plans. Stays abreast of emerging technologies. Advocates for innovative, creative technology solutions. Mentors junior level engineers. Expertise in using a specific application development toolkit and proficiency of front end and backend development coding languages such as C#, Java, HTML, NodeJS, CSS, JSON, Angular, JavaScript. Must also have proficiency in application frameworks and containerization. Communications and organization skills; team work skills ; possess strong interpersonal skills to support mentoring. N/A. Contributes to the achievement of area objectives. Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. 10-14 years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus. Job holder must have understanding interdependencies and business impact of future IT plans. S/he must have prior lead experience selecting and implementing vendor-specific methodologies and prior consulting experience with structured methodologies. BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $116,000 and $246,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

We're seeking a future team member for the role of SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, FULL-STACK ENGINEER to join our RISK ENGINEERING team. This role is in NEW YORK, NY - (4-day in office/1 day optional remote)
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Design, develop, and enhance high-performance risk management applications using Python and C++.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect robust, scalable systems that handle large datasets for market and credit risk analysis
- Implement and support risk analytics engines, scenario analysis, stress testing, and real-time market data ingestion
- Develop microservices and APIs using Python/C++, integrated with MongoDB and SQL Server backends
- Ensure high reliability and performance of risk systems by integrating robust messaging architectures using Kafka or MQ or EMS
- Participate in DevOps and CI/CD processes including testing, deployment automation, and monitoring
- Troubleshoot production issues, optimize system performance, and ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards
- Work with Quant teams to implement models for stress testing, scenario analysis, VaR (Value at Risk), and other risk metrics
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across various sources, enhancing data pipelines and integrations
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or related field; advanced degree a plus
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and/or C#, Messaging Queues (MQ/Kafka/EMS), Databases (SQL, Mongo DB) with hands-on experience in designing and developing Risk Management applications
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with a proven track record in Python and C++
- Significant experience in financial services, specifically within Risk Management or related fields
- Prior experience in building risk models, risk reporting frameworks, or risk data warehousing system
- Experience with cloud-native development (AWS, Azure)
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
