Who we are looking for

State Street Global Technology Services (GTS) Portfolio Governance is seeking a Program Manager to facilitate the implementation of best practices in key process areas across the GTS. The role will engage and collaborate with enterprise process owners to assess the current environment, create transparency, prioritize improvements, and implement governance best practices. You will apply a risk and controls mindset to ensure key process areas are being managed effectively and maintain sustainable governance with a continuous improvement mindset. In partnership with enterprise process owners, you will play a key role in shifting towards a proactive vs. reactive posture. You should understand risk frameworks, control environments, and possess strong analytical, strategic thinking, organizational, and communication skills. What you will be responsible for

  • Partner with enterprise process owners and act as a consultative but accountable owner to identify and break down processes into component parts and solution remediation plans to close gaps.
  • Support enterprise owners in establishing appropriate mechanisms to facilitate comprehensive and effective governance and oversight across process areas.
  • Identify and track dependencies and opportunities for optimization; proactively identify problems and recommend solutions before they become gaps.
  • Collaborate with process owners to develop and implement a change management plan to drive measurable process maturity that aligns to established governance best practices.
  • Create and refine processes when necessary; maintain focus on sustainable and continual improvement that optimizes execution with efficient oversight.
  • Work with teams to clarify goals and deliverables; bring data to planning and prioritization.
  • Identify KPIs and success metrics, collect and analyze data; make information visible to stakeholders.
  • Leverage excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate and oversee progress against milestones and date-driven deadlines.

Education and preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Operations, Computer Science or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in financial services or a related industry, including engaging with leadership to strategic change and/or governance programs.
  • Experience in technical program management with a track record of managing complex cross-functional projects, and understanding technology in a business context.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, partner with virtual teams, and work independently.


Salary Range:
$80,000 - $132,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
