Pay Range: $65-$68/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:
- We are seeking an experienced Database Analyst or Database Systems Programmer with a minimum of 8 years of experience working with zDb2.
- The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in mainframe database technologies, including z/Db2, IMS DB/DC, and/or ADABAS.
- This role involves overseeing database systems, optimizing performance, managing upgrades, and supporting application teams to implement new technologies that align with business goals.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Key Skills; Manage and maintain Client DB2 databases on the z/OS mainframe platform.
- Perform data manipulation operations like loading, unloading, and reorganizing data using DB2 utilities.
- Implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and disaster recovery.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience with zDb2, IMS DB/DC, and/or ADABAS.
- Proficiency with replication software such as IIDR Client Infosphere Data Replication Suite.
- Strong understanding of zConnect Enterprise Edition (zCEE) API framework.
- Expertise in Client DB2 database administration on z/OS mainframe platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL, DB2 partitioning, indexing, data sharing, and performance tuning techniques.
- Experience with mainframe operating system concepts and Job Control Language (JCL).
- Familiarity with data security best practices and compliance regulations.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database-related issues.
- Strong experience in managing database backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery planning.
- Knowledge of Client DB2, IMS DB/DC, and ADABAS database products.
- Familiarity with service level management, change management, and incident resolution.
- Experience working with external vendors and managing software upgrades.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications in DB2 or related database technologies are a plus
