Description
The Huntington User Experience team (HUX) is seeking a passionate leader to join a team of design thinkers focused on creating experiences that help people. As UX Director for Content Design, you will lead a team of content designers and guide their efforts to bring Huntington's voice to life while finding the sweet spot between user needs and business goals. As a resident expert on language and brand voice, you will define Huntington's digital language conventions, ensuring they comply with governance and evolve with current trends, all to push the boundaries of how a bank communicates with its customers.

Overview
In this role, you will ensure the voice of Huntington is brought to life across the digital customer journey.
This work includes:
- Leveraging a user-centered design process to generate innovative, multi-channel experiences for customers and colleagues
- Managing a team of UX designers, helping them advance portfolios of UX projects from conceptualization through delivery while championing best practices in research, writing, fact checking, reviewing, editing, and human-centric design thinking
- Advocating for and advancing the content team's professional development goals, including the incorporation of new technologies and methods into work products
- Providing creative direction to distill information and financial concepts into consumer-friendly content that guides users effortlessly through digital interactions
- Developing the content strategy for new products, services, and experiences
- Participating in iterative design, research, and evaluation activities to refine UI concepts
- Collaborating with interaction designers, visual designers, researchers, experience strategists, creative technologists, business representatives, and brand, marketing, legal, and other stakeholders to realize innovative design solutions
- Facilitating legal, regulatory, and similar oversight of UX work products, and serving as a subject matter expertise for compliance implications
- Establishing voice and tone standards, style guides, and processes that promote inclusivity and consistency across enterprise communications channels
- Clarifying the digital delivery process as it relates to UX content and identifying areas where it can be improved
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, creative writing, journalism, content design, user experience design, human factors design or a related field and/or equivalent experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in creating/editing content for digital experiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Outstanding digital writing and editing skills, with an eye for UX implications
- Experience mentoring or leading creative professionals in a corporate team setting
- Skill and enthusiasm in researching and mastering complex topics, especially in the technology and personal finance spaces
- Strong understanding of the user-centered design process
- Experience with responsive web design and mobile-first approaches
- Understanding of UX skillsets: experience strategy, design research & usability, interaction and visual design, content strategy, front-end UI development
- Knowledge of latest trends and UI conventions in the digital space
- Comfort building relationships at all levels of the organization and with presenting to senior leaders
- Experience with using and developing content style guides at both the project and organizational levels
- Strong organization, facilitation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with ADA compliance, usability standards, and guidelines
- Familiarity with AP Stylebook
- Comfort with ambiguous problem-solving tasks and a positive, can-do attitude toward resolving them
- Excellent verbal communication skills and practice leading group discussions, defending creative decision-making, and aligning with partners
- Experience managing direct reports or leading virtual teams of creative resources
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, demonstrating an ability to prioritize and manage time
- Experience navigating projects from design into delivery within enterprise IT environments, both agile and waterfall
- Demonstrated success in cultivating quality working relationships across all levels of an organization
