Job Description:
  • The Systems Test Engineer will collaborate with Engineering teams to ensure high-quality product delivery.
  • This role involves testing, debugging, and validating software, firmware, CPUs, motherboards, memory, and other system components while supporting automation workflows and customer co-validation activities.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure the highest quality product.
  • Ensure software, firmware, CPUs, motherboards, and memory align with product delivery schedules.
  • Create test queues from test plans and execute them on system automation farms.
  • Diagnose issues quickly and resolve or escalate to lead engineers to maintain test schedules.
  • Diagnose and resolve test automation issues, including hardware, OS, workload, and automation wrapper debug.
  • Partner with external and customer co-validation teams.
  • Execute test cases to ensure proper functionality of systems including ASIC hardware, peripheral hardware, drivers, software tools, firmware, BIOS, operating systems, and applications.
  • Work with Lead System Engineers, Technical Leads, Product Marketing, Product Management, Program Management, and PR to ensure schedule alignment for launches.
  • Track, document, and analyze experiments to isolate and root-cause issues.
  • Interpret new technologies from specifications and develop test procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of platform configurations, integrations, and end-customer experience.
Preferred Experience:
  • Broad system knowledge: CPU, chipset, motherboards, peripherals, OS, BIOS, drivers.
  • Experience with industry-standard benchmarks, setup, testing, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in test automation techniques and workflows.
  • Ability to lead teams in test flow development and execution.
  • Knowledge of system power sequencing from POST to operating system including BIOS, firmware, boot, and HAL.
  • Experience with register read/write using software and hardware tools in OS or via JTAG interface.
  • Coding experience with C#, Python, Batch, Bash, and PowerShell.
  • Experience with client PC and mobile testing, diagnostics, and debugging.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft and Linux operating systems, virtualization software (Hyper-V, VMware, Xen), and video conferencing environments.
  • Knowledge of high-performance client IO adapters, drivers, and stress testing.
  • Experience with testing tools, defect tracking, and revision control.
Education and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant industry experience.
