Job Description
DUTIES:
General Motors seeks a Senior Simultaneous Engineering & Formability Engineer based out of our office at 29755 Louis Chevrolet Road, Warren, MI 48093. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. Job Duties: Be responsible for using CAE formability analysis and stamping process skills to provide manufacturability assessment for Large Stamped Panels and developing Stamping Processes. Work with simultaneous die engineers (or SEs, processing engineers); design studio, product engineers, manufacturing engineers, and program management to provide manufacturing driven product input to develop balanced integrated systems design for future program launches. Processing a new product design for early manufacturing feasibility studies. Provide manufacturing input and engineering criteria to Styling & Product Engineering. Develop preliminary die-face layout and run formability analysis. Run iterations to optimize manufacturing conditions and identify manufacturability concerns. Propose solutions in resolving manufacturing related issues (splits, wrinkles, surface defects, skid lines, material utilization, press handling, and throughput) while product design in progress. Support Die Leads in program health checks, stamping strategy reviews, and deviation requests. Review and resolve manufacturability requirements with Product Development (DFM). Prepare handoff documents and math data of manufacturing product releases to production die sources.

REQUIREMENTS:
Ten (10) years of experience in the job offered or related manufacturing position. Experience must include: 10 years of manufacturing CAE experience in Die & Stamping including experience using commercial software packages (Autoform, Dynaform, Pamstamp, LSDYNA and/or similar formability analysis codes); 10 years of experience with Die Processing; experience with NX, Vis Mockup, and Teamcenter Engineering skills; experience with engineering discipline (e.g., CAE, mechanics, physics, materials, and manufacturing methods) within job-related area; experience with surfacing using CAD software; experience with sheet forming simulation; experience with Die Design; and experience with Die Execution and Tryout.
