Job Details

SQL Server Database Administrator is responsible for the performance, security, and availability of an organization's SQL Server databases.

They ensure that the databases are properly designed, implemented, and maintained to meet the needs of the business.

SQL DBAs may also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining other database-related technologies, such as data replication, clustering, and high availability solutions.

Creating and managing database objects, such as tables, indexes, and constraints

Ensuring data integrity and consistency by monitoring database performance and conducting regular backups and restores.

Optimizing database performance by analyzing query execution plans and making appropriate adjustments to database configuration and schema design.

Implementing and maintaining database security measures, such as user permissions and access controls

Planning for and implementing database upgrades and migrations

Troubleshooting and resolving database issues, such as performance bottlenecks, data corruption, and connectivity problems

Collaborating with development teams to design and implement database changes that support application requirements.

Providing technical guidance and support to end users and other IT teams.

Creating and maintaining documentation related to database design, configuration, and operations.

Minimum 12 plus years of Data Base Administration experience of which 9 plus years should have worked on SQL DBA covering Installing, configuring, and maintaining SQL Server instances and databases.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Extensive experience in managing large-scale SQL Server environments

Expertise in advanced performance tuning and query optimization

Proven track record of implementing and managing high availability solutions like AlwaysOn

In-depth knowledge of database security, compliance, and auditing

Experience with cloud-based database services such as AWS RDS and Azure SQ

Proficiency in SQL for creating, managing, and optimizing databases

Should have executed data integrity and availability through robust backup and recovery strategies

Should have done Monitoring and optimizing the performance of SQL Server databases

Should have Knowledge of high availability solutions like AlwaysOn, and disaster recovery planning

Should have the skill of writing and maintaining SQL scripts for various database

Should have executed setting up and managing monitoring tools and alerts to ensure database health

Familiarity with cloud-based database services such as AWS RDS and Azure SQ
