POSITION TITLE: Senior Network Engineer

POSITION PURPOSE

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for installing, configuring, administering, evaluating, and implementing voice or data network infrastructure. This advanced-level job classification demonstrates significant technical expertise in one or more of the following technical areas: voice/ data communications, software development, operating systems or information security. This position occasionally leads small teams in successfully executing voice/data network infrastructure-related projects

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

1. *Organizes, aligns, leads, and evolves hardware development initiatives.
2. *Updates and manages tickets through resolution with vendors and internal support groups.
3. *Collaborates with DevOps teams, project management, and product management teams to understand and validate hardware and virtual systems requirements.
4. *Contributes expertise on multiple project teams comprised of other engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of development across multiple engineering disciplines for complex products, platforms, systems, software, and technology solutions.
5. *Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on engineering design and development.
6. *Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality.
7. *Provides domain-specific expertise and overall engineering perspective to cross- organization projects, programs, and activities
8. *Implements innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the engineering design organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• BA/BS or MA/MS in Computer Science or related subject or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years professional experience related to analytical or network system support, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

• Applying appropriate engineering design tools and software packages to design components and solutions.
  • Knowledge of Routing protocols, and network threat detection & remediation.
  • Knowledge of switching and wireless technologies and protocols.
  • Knowledge of next generation firewall systems.
  • Knowledge of automation tools and operating system scripting languages like: BASH, PowerShell, Python, etc.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a business office environment. Occasional travel to outside locations or meetings may be required. Ability to work extended hours, as required, in support of the company's business need.
