Location: Remote

Duration: Long-term Contract

Notes: Candidates should be able to travel 2 -3 days quarterly to Springfield, IL, as per client requirement based on project Needs.

Position Description:

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Junior Platform Developer- (ETL Conversion Specialist) to spearhead our critical data conversion and cleansing initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing complex data migration projects, with a proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive plans, timelines, and budgets. This role requires exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to guide our data migration team and ensure successful project outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of data conversion and data cleansing activities, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timely completion.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive work plans, timelines, and budgets for all data migration activities.
  • Strategically plan and execute phased data migration projects, including the implementation of data bridging and synchronization solutions between systems.
  • Maintain meticulous and comprehensive documentation for all data migration processes and procedures, including data conversion plans, detailed data mapping documents, and operational playbooks.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure seamless data integration.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges related to data migration, implementing effective solutions to maintain project momentum.
  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the data migration team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Communicate project status, challenges, and successes clearly and concisely to all relevant stakeholders.

Optional Experience and Education Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience leading data conversion and data cleansing activities.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing comprehensive work plans, timelines, and budgets for data migration activities.
  • Proven experience with phased data migration, including data bridging and synchronization between disparate systems.
  • Extensive experience in maintaining comprehensive documentation of data migration processes and procedures, including data conversion plans, data mapping documents, and playbooks.
  • Prior experience working with a state agency department, preferably within the child/family or human services domain, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills are essential for guiding the data migration team and ensuring successful project outcomes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expertise in Data Management Methodologies: Profound understanding of data lifecycle management, data quality best practices, master data management (MDM) principles, and enterprise data warehousing concepts.
  • Strong Project Management Acumen: Ability to apply industry-standard project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) to data-centric projects, including scope definition, risk management, resource planning, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Technical Proficiency in Data Tools: Familiarity with a range of data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) tools, data profiling tools, and database technologies (e.g., SQL, relational and NoSQL databases).
  • Data Analysis and Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to diagnose complex data discrepancies, propose effective solutions, and optimize data transformation processes.
  • Strategic Thinking & Planning: Capability to foresee potential data integration challenges and proactively develop strategies for mitigation and successful project delivery.
  • Exceptional Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Superior verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, facilitate effective team collaboration, and present project updates clearly and concisely.
  • Influential Leadership & Team Development: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and mentor data professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring team accountability for project deliverables.
