Job Details

Lightmatter is redefining what computers and humans are capable of by delivering a fundamentally new kind of computer that calculates using light. Transistors, the workhorse of modern computers, aren't improving at the rate they once were. To scale AI, companies are building increasingly large and energy-expensive data centers-a path that is neither financially nor environmentally sustainable. By delivering ultra-high performance and energy efficiency, Lightmatter's compute engine will power rapid advancements in AI while lowering its environmental footprint. We are inviting candidates for the role of Director of package analysis and core competency team to join Lightmatter!

In this role, you will lead and manage a multi-physics engineering team across various domains from Signal/Power Integrity, Photonics, Mechanical, and Thermals to develop state-of-the-art simulation techniques and establish methodologies to deliver error-free design execution for Lightmatter products from package to systems. You will be managing a team of at least eight to ten analysts from various disciplines. You will work closely with Package and System Architects to develop cutting-edge technologies to enable AI architectures, setting new industry standards with respect to compute power, performance, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a cross-disciplinary team of 8 to 10 engineers with expertise across SI/PI, Thermo-mechanical, and Photonic domains
  • Establish state-of-the-art analysis techniques that deliver accurate, predictable, and high-confidence results
  • Develop validation techniques and drive appropriate data collection activities to deliver high confidence in analysis outcomes
  • Establish analysis methodologies and measurement metrologies to ensure error-free, timely package and system design tape-outs
  • Participate in design reviews at program levels and publish documents to support evidence-based indicators of risk levels at each program level milestone
  • Participate in technology roadmap discussions. Innovate and optimize through analysis to down-select solutions that meet Lightmatter product requirements
  • Define group objectives and key results; plans and evaluates group accomplishments
  • Maintain and develop capabilities by recruiting appropriate talent and continuing to review employee's skill set requirements & training to meet business needs.
