Position: Director of Civil Services
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Salary/Pay Rate: $90,000
Type: FTE/On-Site (Remote/Hybrid Option)
Archon Resources is currently looking for a Director of Civil Service for direct hire to join one of our best clients located in Phoenix, AZ. This is a permanent position with full benefits including medical, vision, dental, PTO, & 401k.
Summary:
We’re seeking a strategic and experienced leader to oversee a growing Civil Infrastructure Professional Services team. This role is responsible for guiding technical specialists, driving project success, and ensuring seamless coordination across multiple departments. The Director will play a key role in resource planning, project profitability, and developing new service offerings, while fostering a high-performing team culture.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Operations
Lead and mentor a team of technical specialists, ensuring strong onboarding, training, and professional growth.
Oversee project scoping, execution, and delivery to ensure quality, client satisfaction, and profitability.
Develop and maintain strategic resource pipelines to meet client and project needs.
Collaborate with executive leadership to set departmental goals, monitor progress, and adjust priorities as needed.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, client expectations, and industry standards.
Project & Performance Management
Track utilization, project health, and financial performance, maintaining a minimum billable rate of $110/hr.
Implement repeatable service offerings and drive efficiency across engagements.
Coordinate with accounting teams on invoicing and project closure.
Prepare and deliver regular reports on revenue, performance metrics, and upcoming initiatives.
Manage resource scheduling, software/hardware certification tracking, and staff development plans.
Sales & Client Support
Partner with sales teams to support pre- and post-sales activities, ensuring technical expertise is available to drive service opportunities.
Maintain accurate service pipelines and lead technical coordination for sales efforts.
Participate in client meetings to understand needs and identify solutions.
Support marketing initiatives, including webinars, blogs, and success stories to highlight department achievements.
Key Metrics & Reporting
Maintain project forecast accuracy within ±10%.
Achieve average team utilization of 80% or higher.
Ensure average project billable revenue of $110/hr or more.
Provide weekly updates to leadership, including service forecasts, active projects, and team performance.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required.
10+ years of experience in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry.
Expertise in Autodesk software relevant to civil engineering.
Proven experience managing teams of 10 or more technical professionals.
Strong project management experience.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
Professional licensure (PE, RLS, AIA, etc.) MUST HAVE.
