Machine Learning Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in need of a Machine Learning Engineer in Smithfield, RI.

Responsibilities:
* Machine Learning Engineer will design and implement Gen AI solutions including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and fine-tuning
* Develop and deploy machine learning models in production environments
* Build and optimize data pipelines to support AI workflows
* Create and maintain APIs for integrating applications with ML models
* Host and manage AI solutions on AWS infrastructure
* Collaborate closely with data scientists to align engineering with modeling needs
* As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will enhance technical solutions to improve scalability, reliability, and performance
* Participate in hands-on development of AI-powered applications
* Contribute to the design of application architecture for AI systems
* Drive innovation in AI delivery through technical leadership and experimentation

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
* Solid 5+ years of hands-on development as Machine Learning Engineer
* Strong programming skills in Python and Java
* Experience with working on Gen AI solutions with Large Language Models, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Prompt Engineering and Fine tuning
* Solid experience with developing python-based APIs needed (FastAPI/Flask)
* Design and develop machine learning and deep learning systems using ML (Machine Learning) algorithms/frameworks
* Demonstrated work experience using AWS services: Deploy the models in Sagemaker, cloud-based data platforms like Snowflake or RDS for analytics data hosting; EC2/EKS computer set-up
* Work with data to create models and perform statistical analysis, train and retrain models to optimize performance
* Run machine learning tests and experiments

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
