Job Details
We are looking for a Controls Engineer with experience in the automation industry. The role involves developing and testing Allen Bradley PLC programs, leading the team in performing onsite IO checks, and supporting the PLC program onsite until the system is fully operational, including performing maintenance and operator training. Additionally, the candidate will write Functional Descriptions based on customer controls requirements.

Physical Demands:
Sufficient mobility to work in an office setting; ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be capable of walking long distances and have the flexibility to maneuver around machinery to take measurements. When at customer startups, must be able to travel long distances by car or plane and have the stamina to work extended hours (12+ hours per day) for up to 14 continuous days.

Required Education and Experience:
- Four Year Engineering Degree
- Ability to develop a PLC program from scratch or customize a program based on customer-specific templates
- Flexibility in programming style to adapt to customer standards
- Proficiency in FactoryTalk HMI development is preferred
- Experience designing controls system networks using Ethernet
- Preferred experience in designing, programming, and configuring VFD and servo systems, specifically Rockwell hardware
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Two or more years of machine controls or packaging experience
- Knowledge of Safety Control Systems is beneficial
- Proficiency in Allen-Bradley PLC Programming Software (RS Logix, Studio 5000) is desirable

- 60-75% standard office setting
- 25-40% shop and manufacturing facility
