About the Client:

client is a leading manufacturer of industrial computer systems and digital signage software. They offer a comprehensive line of industrial PCs and large-format LCD signage products, with a strong focus on high-quality, customizable solutions. Their latest innovation is a Software-Defined Networking (SDN) Controller built on OpenFlow, tailored for the industrial sector currently the only one of its kind.

Project Overview:

client is rapidly expanding its customer base for its proprietary SDN Controller and is building out the development team to support this growth. The UI development team is in place, and middleware development is partially staffed. The current priority is to bring on 1 2 developers focused on low-level network interfacing, with flexibility to contribute across the stack.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain low-level networking components for the SDN Controller.
  • Work with OpenFlow protocol to manage and control network traffic.
  • Collaborate with middleware and UI teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Contribute to future integration of P4 support as hardware evolves.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Strong experience with OpenFlow or similar SDN protocols.
  • Proficiency in FreeBSD, C/C++, and or PHP.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols and systems programming.
  • Experience with low-level network development and interfacing.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Familiarity with P4 programming language.
  • Experience in industrial or embedded systems environments.
  • Exposure to SDN controller architecture and design.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 5+ years of relevant development experience.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
