Deputy Chief Enterprise Architect (INFOSEC)
Location: Washington DC

Positions Summary

This position is in the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) Office. The Deputy Chief Enterprise Architect will demonstrate a mastery of enterprise architecture concepts, methods, and practices; and project management methods and concepts sufficient to lead the evaluation of the agency s mission, goals, plans, programs, and business processes to develop an enterprise architecture plan for the agency.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for managing, developing, and implementing enterprise architecture policies, processes, and procedures and serves as the viable authoritative source of information concerning enterprise architecture
  • Reviews and interprets the intent of existing guides and the formulation of new agency practices.
  • We are seeking a Senior level expert who will be responsible for Enterprise Architecture (ENTARCH) functions: work that involves the analysis, planning, design, implementation, documentation, assessment, and management of the enterprise structural framework to align IT strategy, plans, and systems with the mission, goals, structure, and processes of the organization
  • Utilizes their familiarity with IT security theories and concepts, practices, and emerging issues; and project management methods and concepts sufficient to plan, develop, and coordinate agency-level information security programs and strategies,
  • Formulate the agency workforce security training program or security audit program; and formulate agency-level IT security program initiatives in response to critical IT security issues, and sufficient to plan and coordinate agencywide implementation of Governmentwide IT security defense strategies to ensure protection of the IT infrastructure. (INFOSEC)

Preferred Experience

  • Senior-level experience leading environments with increased technical and business complexity.
  • Knowledge related to enterprise cloud solutions and strategies to support the department s growing use of cloud-based solutions,
  • Mid-level experience with Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offerings, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings.
  • Amazon Webservices (AWS) Certified, Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DODAF), Microsoft Certified, ITIL, The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), Zachman Architectural Framework
  • Strong leadership skills, critical thinking skills, problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration with an ability to build strong partnership with others
