Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Data Engineer Intern to join our data team. This role offers hands-on experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and modern data warehouse technologies. You'll work on real-world projects while developing foundational skills in data engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in designing, building, and maintaining ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
Work with APIs to integrate data from external systems and third-party services.
Support data modeling and schema design in Snowflake and/or relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)
Write SQL queries to transform and validate data for analytics and reporting.
Collaborate with data analysts and engineers to understand data requirements.
Help monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues.
Document data processes, workflows, and technical specifications.
Participate in code reviews and learn best practices for data engineering.
Required Qualifications
Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field
Basic understanding of SQL and relational database concepts
Familiarity with at least one programming language (Python preferred)
Understanding of data structures and algorithms
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, SQL Server, Big Query)
Experience working with APIs and data integration.
Knowledge of ETL tools or frameworks
Understanding data modeling concepts (star schema, normalization)
Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
Coursework or projects involving data pipelines or databases.
