Compensation Range:
57,000.00 - 113,000.00 USD Annual
The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).

Senior Metadata Analyst
Brief Description:
- The Senior Metadata Analyst is a key contributor within Huntington Bank's Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO), focused on advancing enterprise data governance and delivery. This role is ideal for highly skilled business analysts with strong technical acumen who thrive in Agile environments and enjoy solving complex data challenges. While not a supervisory role, the position leads impactful projects and provides expert consultative support across business and technology teams.
- The analyst will manage and enhance metadata while supporting data lineage and quality initiatives, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and aligned with business and regulatory needs. Success in this role requires a forward-thinking mindset, strong communication skills, and a passion for enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Detailed Description:
- Lead and contribute to Agile SCRUM teams delivering metadata and lineage solutions
- Maintain and enhance metadata repositories, including business terms, critical data elements, and technical metadata
- Collaborate with Segment Data Offices (SDOs), data curators, and trustees to implement and steward metadata management tools and processes
- Define and execute tactical enhancements to metadata tools based on business needs and data governance strategy
- Analyze existing systems and procedures to identify and recommend technical or process improvements
- Ensure compliance with data and information security policies and regulatory requirements
- Support projects focused on evolving master and reference data repositories and their integration
- Provide consultative support to business units, project teams, and management on metadata, lineage, and reference data issues
- Develop and generate ad hoc reports and data visualizations to support decision-making
- Serve as liaison between software vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure optimal use of metadata applications
- Deliver insights through effective data storytelling and communication
- Support data cleansing, harmonization, and stewardship processes across internal databases
- Diagnose platform configuration issues and recommend enhancements
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 4+ years of experience working with metadata, data lineage validation, and data quality frameworks
- 3+ years of experience in Agile development using SCRUM methodologies
- Strong knowledge of SQL and ETL frameworks
- Experience with metadata ontology and data model frameworks
- Familiarity with data lineage automation and stitching processes
- Understanding of Data Intelligence tools, Data Quality monitoring tools, and connections to DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, and Hadoop
Preferred Qualifications:
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with IT and business partners
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Knowledge of banking operations
- 5+ years of experience managing applications supporting metadata, lineage, data quality, or reference data (e.g., Rocket Data Intelligence Software, Anomalo, Profisee)
- Technical proficiency in:
- Java, XML, JSON
- Object-oriented concepts and design patterns
- Strategic thinker with a forward-looking mindset and a passion for solving data challenges
- Ability to work independently and adapt to evolving priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills including negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder engagement.
- Business acumen with the ability to connect data to business processes and performance metrics
