Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a Product Owner III with our large power and utilities client in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12-month contract with a potential for extension. This is a hybrid position.

Pay: $60.00 - $68.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment.

Description:
The Product Owner defines, delivers, and manages the lifecycle of products in a product portfolio. Leads the product team(s) developing the product(s). This position will be involved in the stakeholder management, financial management, budgeting processes, and value tracking for the products and / or portfolio.

This position will report to and work under the guidance of the product manager. The role will focus primarily on tactical execution within the team, having direct responsibility for the 1 or more data product solutions. The position will provide leadership guiding the team to successful product delivery through the Agile framework.

The position will also be highly focused on engagement with key business stakeholders to ensure the team is focused on value driven deliverables for end users . You will be part of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, energetic, and high performing team at the heart of the client's customer data delivery and data driven transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Defines and manages product roadmap in conjunction with stakeholders
  • Build, groom and prioritize the product backlog, continuously managing expectations with relevant stakeholders - including the senior leadership team
  • Manage the sprint planning process and participate in all relevant ceremonies (reviews of prior sprints, grooming, retrospectives, etc.)
  • Develop a deep contextual understanding of our customer, worker and user needs
  • Gather market feedback through user interactions, focus groups, and by performing industry research to support future development
  • Write detailed functional specifications, user stories and product documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of developers, designers and analysts to implement and deliver new products and features
  • Collaborate with the organization on vision, strategy, decisioning, tactical execution, and measurement systems
  • Communicate roadmap stages and timelines internally with key stakeholders
  • Work with stakeholders and end users on an ongoing basis to understand needs, capture associated value, and maintain relationships

Required/Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • In addition to required degree, four (4) years related work experience
  • In lieu of Bachelor's degree(s) AND 4 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 8 year(s) related work experience

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Science or Management Information Systems
  • In addition to desired degree, 7 years related work experience
  • Certified SCRUM Product Owner

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • 7 or more years working in the utility industry
  • Experience as a Senior Product Analyst
  • Agile Product Owner certification
  • "Black Belt " Six Sigma certification
  • Experience with Jira
  • Experience working with Data Engineers
  • Experience with AWS

Specific Requirements/;
  • Entrepreneurial with a strong inclination towards action, preferably with experience with AI and customer data delivery
  • Ability to communicate complex and innovative concepts to a new product development team as well as key stakeholders/funders
  • Clear passion for topics of technology products and an ability to identify possibilities to innovate, create value, and enhance customer experiences
  • Ability to be self-directed and to proactively anticipate problems and seek opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to build relationships and effectively influence across all management and organizational levels from developers to C-suite
  • Past experience and a strong ability to work in an agile environment with data engineers and cross functional product teams
  • Experience with relevant new product or technology development experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience operating in an environment driven by KPIs where you have the accountability to determine the best course of action to meet your goals
  • Experience in project budgeting, financial tracking and value/KPI tracking
