Senior Specialty Coder | Remote | TX, LA, AR, NM or GA | Contract to Hire
 
Walker Healthforce is seeking a Senior Specialty Coder for a healthcare client located in TX, LA, AR, NM or GA. This is a contract position.
 
Eligible candidates MUST be local to TX, LA, AR, NM or GA.
 
Start Date: ASAP

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with ICD-10-CM/PCS and AMA CPT Guidelines
  • Accurately abstract and enter coded data into electronic medical record systems
  • Collaborate with HIM, Clinical Documentation Specialists, and other departments to support complete and accurate documentation
  • Support accurate billing and minimize denials through compliant coding practices
  • Assist in other HIM/coding areas as needed and requested by leadership
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • 5+ years of experience in Anesthesia coding
  • Strong pro-fee Anesthesia coding experience
  • Strong proficiency in ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high coding accuracy (95% or above)
 
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Anesthesia specialty certification
