Alert IT Solutions Inc. is the Prime Awardee for the State of Illinois Technology Operations Professional Services Category 1 (Infrastructure & Operations) contract. We are authorized to provide 17 categories of IT staffing and professional services (PMs, BAs, DBAs, Network Engineers, Help Desk, etc.) across state agencies through 2033.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Business Development Lead to represent Alert IT Solutions in Springfield, IL. This role will focus on driving statewide agency engagement, building executive relationships, and growing contract utilization under our DoIT statewide vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and expand relationships with CIOs, GCIOs, and executive leaders in Illinois state government.
- Promote and increase usage of Alert IT s statewide DoIT CAT1 contract.
- Identify agency IT staffing and modernization needs; align with our authorized service offerings.
- Coordinate with internal recruitment/delivery teams to respond quickly to agency requests.
- Attend supplier diversity events, industry days, and agency briefings to represent Alert IT.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of business development, client engagement, or account management experience in IT services.
- Strong understanding of Illinois state government agencies and procurement processes.
- Proven record of building executive-level relationships and driving contract growth.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and networking skills.
- Based in or near Springfield, IL with ability to attend in-person meetings/events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a state agency executive, procurement officer, or IT contracting leader.
- Familiarity with statewide master contracts and staffing vehicles.
- Established Springfield network and reputation in government IT.
