Job Details

We are seeking a highly experienced Google Cloud Platform Cloud Subject Matter Expert with 13+ years of IT experience and hands-on expertise (not just training) in designing, deploying, and optimizing Google Cloud solutions at enterprise scale. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services, experience with cloud integration, and the ability to lead cloud adoption initiatives while ensuring compliance with regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise IT functional groups on cloud-based Microservices/SOA solutions for infrastructure or business applications.

  • Create detailed architecture deliverables: bill of materials, technology components, vendor components, cost estimates, and design parameters.

  • Prepare solution descriptions, technical approaches, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.

  • Lead organizational and cultural change for cloud adoption.

  • Develop and communicate cloud policies, standards, design patterns, and reference architectures.

  • Identify training and development needs; develop and deliver materials for cloud standards and awareness.

  • Interface with vendors to ensure adherence to standard architectures.

  • Provide technical direction and SWAT-level assistance to management and systems teams.

  • Ensure alignment of infrastructure and application designs with enterprise architecture and compliance standards.

  • Research and analyze industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative Google Cloud Platform solutions.

  • Support architecture governance, publication of solution standards, and enterprise-wide cloud strategy initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 13+ years in IT industry

  • Must have - hands-on Google Cloud (Google Cloud Platform) experience.

  • Certification: Active Google Cloud Associate or Professional Certification.

  • Technical Expertise: Compute, storage, networking, virtualization, cloud automation, and high-availability solutions on Google Cloud Platform.

  • Integration Skills: Experience integrating Google Cloud Platform with SaaS or on-premises solutions (Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, Linux, SAP, etc.).

  • Automation: Scripting/coding proficiency using Python, Shell, Ruby, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, Chef, or Puppet.

  • Compliance: Knowledge of SOX, PCI, and other regulated environment requirements for cloud applications.

  • Generative AI: Familiarity with prompt engineering and AI integration patterns.

  • Architecture Documentation: Proficient in Visio, Draw.io, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Power BI.

  • Agile/DevOps: Understanding of Agile lifecycle, CI/CD, containerization, and deployment strategies including Kafka components.

  • Data Management: SQL and NoSQL database experience.

  • Communication: Ability to convey complex technical concepts to technical and executive audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting USPS or other federal agencies.

  • Leading enterprise-scale cloud deployments or migrations on Google Cloud Platform.

  • Mentoring and leading technical teams in cloud adoption initiatives.
