Summary:
Leads efforts to maintain databases and develops new databases as needed. Performs visual basic coding to support database development. Coordinates with subject matter experts to obtain and verify data for new and existing databases. Develops and performs structured queries as needed; designs, develops, modifies and generates specific reports upon request; creates tables, queries, and forms; and provides hard copies as requested. Ensures the quality, accuracy, and consistency of all database entries. Creates and maintains documentation or users' guides for each database and trains designated personnel on use of databases, as needed, Assists in the integration/connectivity of multiple databases operating at multiple independent levels of security, Provides technical guidance, troubleshoots various problems that arise in day-to-day work. Independently analyzes, solves and corrects issues in real time and provides start-to-finish problem resolution. Manages database security by controlling database access permissions and privileges while complying with regulatory requirements. Coordinates scheduled maintenance. Leads, guides and mentors less-experienced/lower-position employees
Skill Required:
Strong systems & software engineering, database administration process background and/or database development experience
Experience in providing database administration and troubleshooting
DBMS design and system analysis
Current operating systems
Data manipulation languages
Database backups, restoration and maintenance
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-starter & able to multi-task
Senior skill set includes ability to perform all stated/implied duties within this tier and those reasonably derived from preceding tier
Education/Certifications - requirements based on position level
BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration or related field + 10 years of experience
OR
Ms degree + 7 years of experience
OR
PHD + 4 years of experience
Certification:
Contractor shall obtain and maintain certifications as required by current versions of AFMAN17-1303, DoDI 8570.01 -M, and other applicable laws and regulations
Clearance -Secret - TS/SCI, PRP- Based on position
