AppleCare Business Insights, Operations, and Systems (ACBIOS) transforms complex data into insights that improve Apple products, services, and customer experiences. We are seeking a Data Scientist with expert-level Snowflake SQL and Tableau skills to focus on AppleCare hardware diagnostics. In this role, you will work with massive datasets, build advanced dashboards, and deliver analyses that guide engineering decisions and support operations. You will partner closely with engineering and diagnostics platform teams to transform data into curated datasets, compelling visualizations, and actionable insights that directly improve Apple's hardware service experience.

Description As a Data Scientist, you will own the end-to-end analytics process, from extracting and transforming raw diagnostic data to building dashboards and presenting insights to technical and non-technical audiences. You will combine deep technical expertise with strong business acumen to identify trends, discover patterns, and enable data-driven decision-making at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Write and optimize sophisticated SQL queries in Snowflake for performance and scalability
  • Curate datasets from raw diagnostic results
  • Build advanced Tableau dashboards
  • Develop custom data tools and dashboards using Python and Streamlit
  • Perform deep-dive and what-if analyses to uncover trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Apply standard methodologies in code quality, Git, CI/CD, and Jenkins workflows
  • Present findings to engineering teams, operations teams, and senior leadership
  • Identify gaps in reporting and analytics capabilities and propose new projects

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field
  • 5-8 years experience in data science, business analytics, or BI roles
  • Expert level SQL with advanced Snowflake performance tuning expertise
  • Proven ability to work with massive datasets and optimize query performance
  • Advanced Tableau dashboard development skills
  • Python development experience with pandas and NumPy
  • Experience with Git workflows and CI/CD tools
  • Proven record of producing clean, maintainable, and well-documented SQL & Python code following coding best practices
  • Good communication skills with experience presenting to multi-functional teams and executive leadership

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a quantitative or technical field
  • Experience with Streamlit dashboard development
  • Familiarity with distributed computing tools like Apache Spark
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow
  • Background in hardware diagnostics, manufacturing analytics, or other large-scale technical disciplines

Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $141,800 and $213,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
