Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Engineer, Quality Engineering to drive excellence across our products, processes, and supplier performance. In this critical role, you will ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards while championing continuous improvement initiatives. As an individual contributor with significant influence, you will lead quality engineering projects, shape quality control systems and protocols, and apply your expertise to improve outcomes across the organization. What You Will Do
  • Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation, control systems and protocols for materials being processed into partially finished or finished products. Working with product design and specification, devises testing plans, methods and equipment to assure reliability of product
  • Collaborates internally to ensure quality standards are in effect.
  • Develops proactive quality initiative strategies and drives their implementation.
  • Performs Escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and recommends corrective action for design problems for internally produced products & processes.
  • Recommends product engineering changes to satisfy quality issues raised by customers.
  • Responsible for both Program and Product Quality Engineering.
  • Responsible for development of new inspection technologies or methodologies to assure product conformance.
  • Conducts/lead thorough investigations on issues in areas of responsibility. RTPR support on daily basis as required.
  • Be a promoter and have full understanding of CPS tool that enable to coach others in the tool application and use
  • Present summary of performance as well executive summaries, or when required full reporting, on different forums, including and not limited to: CAB Internal/interplant, Management and Business Reviews, Get to Green,
  • Conduct Layered process Audit. Support Audits events of all sorts, as required.
  • Reviews procedures and metrics that impact quality and makes recommendations to improve compliance with internal standards
  • Provide comprehensive training in workmanship standards and techniques to ensure high-quality performance in manufacturing and monitor all employees certifications.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Successful applicants are expected to become IPC certified instructors within 90 days of hire(training supported by Raytheon) to the following:
  • IPC J-STD-001 Standard for Soldering
  • IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 | Wiring Harness Manufacturer's Association
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 Space Addendum
  • IPC 7711/7721 - Rework, Mod, and Repair of Electronic Assemblies
  • Effective communication and presentation skills in English and Spanish (verbal and written).

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Previous experience working in the aerospace industry
  • Experience using in computer applications, with a working knowledge of software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.
  • Knowledge of / experience in a Quality facing role
  • Experience in a multi-responsibility organization.
  • Quality certifications and experience with FAA and conformity processes is desirable.
  • Experience with advanced quality and PPAP tools/processes
  • ASQ CQE Certified (preferred)
  • IPC electronic assembly standards knowledge (preferred)
  • Lean Six Sigma (preferred)
  • Experience in training management
  • Read and interpretate blueprints, diagrams, and/or technical instructions.
