JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Agile Systems Engineering (ASE) Group in the Materials, Manufacturing, and Sustainment Office (MMSO) at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) is seeking highly motivated, self-starting undergraduate student interns to support complex system development leveraging the latest technologies in areas such as hypersonic weapons, unmanned systems, advanced manufacturing, and supply chain logistics.
ARL is an authorized DoD SkillBridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply.
As an ASE Systems Engineering Intern, you will be expected to work closely with Senior Engineers and subject matter experts on tasks associated with:
Students studying Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will work up to 20 hours/week during the fall and spring semesters and 40 hours/week over the summer. Your working location will be fully on-site, located in State College, PA.

- Requirements development, architecture definition, and system design
- Test set development and system testing
- Prototype development including mechanical, electrical, and/or software

- Ability to express yourself in written and oral communication to others in order to provide understanding
- Past success in providing ideas in written form for clear comprehension to an audience
Desirable skills/experience:
- Hands-on experience with design, simulation, and test
- Model Based Systems Engineering training and experience
- Familiarity with systems engineering fundamentals
- SECRET Clearance (or ability to obtain a clearance)
