Description
Senior Desktop Systems Engineer accountable for Office 365 endpoint client design and build. The resource is responsible for the Office Professional Plus client design, build process, packaging methodology, deployment and update mechanisms. The role requires extensive technical capabilities as well as the ability to work with a team of senior technical professionals in a high paced environment.
She now will own server packaging for MS Office
1 week out of every month they will be creating a quarterly package for servers and a monthly security patch
BladeLogic not sure how much in depth experience they need
Will likely leave it up to each systems admin to advice this person/team on what needs to be done.
Crazy documentation necessary. Very behind on documentation need this person to assist with that
Understanding click to run technologies is important for O365
Office Deployment toolkit
Don't use SCCM as an enterprise deployment tool even though they use it heavily.
Ideally need both Bladelogic and SCCM (Really strong in one or the other is okay for each role)
Openshift may be future state but don't stress
Highly configured, in our configuration packages we are going to turn things on and off
Need strong packaging and we can train their on what is needed
Desktop troubleshooting skills will also be valuable
Desktop and Server OS knowledge
More Engineering than support

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Responsible for engineering the M365 Applications and additional Office product and all components necessary to sustain long term implementation
Develop technical documentation for application packaging
Focus on both on premise and cloud implementation solutions
Partner with internal teams to develop a sustainable patching methodology
Develop technical documentation and build strategy for managing 'ring' release processes for Office Professional Plus client
Ensure designs adhere to all compliance and security requirements
Develop and implement a strategy to accommodate for macros, add-ins, etc.
Take a leadership role in shaping service design direction
Partner and mentor with other engineers and consultants to share knowledge and experience
Work with service and product managers to identify / document service requirements

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
