Role Summary:
We are seeking a Murex Technical Architect Engineer with strong functional awareness and deep technical experience to support live operations, incident management, and environment automation within an existing Murex MX.3 landscape. This role does not involve architecting the system from scratch but focuses on sustaining, enhancing, and automating a complex production environment. The successful candidate will work closely with system architects, functional teams, and infrastructure teams to maintain platform reliability and performance across trade processing, reporting, and risk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the existing Murex technical architecture across production and non-production environments
- Perform deep incident investigation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis, with timely escalation to L1/L2/L3 support as needed
- Develop and maintain scripts (Python, Shell, Perl) to automate incident checks, health monitoring, and log analysis
- Manage Murex environments: cloning, data refresh, decommissioning, capacity planning, and system tuning
- Assist with Murex upgrades, new model installation, configuration rollouts, and system performance tuning
- Provide operational coverage for:
- Datamart configuration and MxML reporting
- Trade workflow management (pre-trade and post-trade)
- End-of-day and batch processes
- Event generation and downstream interfaces
- Simulation, valuation, and risk/PnL engine behavior
- Environment deployment and monitoring, including gateways, clusters, and services
- Collaborate with functional and business teams to triage and support issues related to collateral, settlement, or regulatory workflows
Technical Skills Required:
- 7+ years of Murex technical experience, ideally with production support, automation, or systems engineering focus
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, system scripting, and performance analysis
- Hands-on experience with:
- Datamart configuration
- MxML Reports and cubes
- Batch job control and end-of-day workflows
- Trade event generation and workflow tuning
- Cash flow, PnL, and sensitivity calculations
- Simulation and pricing engines
- Environment lifecycle management: setup, clone, refresh, retire
- Application deployment: gateways, services, and cluster tuning
- Strong scripting ability: Shell, Python, Perl
- Experience using DevOps toolchains (Git, Jenkins) and working with cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
- Excellent ability to analyze logs, debug issues, and identify systemic patterns
Functional and Operational Awareness:
- Practical understanding of Murex trade lifecycle, including booking, processing, and valuation
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting flows, collateral workflows, and market settlement operations
- Experience collaborating with functional teams to triage production issues and support run-the-bank operations
Soft Skills and Attributes:
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving mindset with a focus on production resilience
- Excellent communication skills for working across technical and functional teams
- Ability to handle critical incidents under pressure and communicate clearly during escalations
- Organized and proactive; able to drive operational automation and quality improvements
Preferred Technical Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering
- Deep understanding of Murex technical domains, particularly:
- S4C Datamart, reporting, interface, and batch configuration
- PAC Trade lifecycle processing, event management, pricing and risk
- CEM Environment setup, configuration, deployment strategies, and monitoring
- Familiarity with enterprise integration, message queues (e.g., MQ), APIs, and scheduling tools
- Ability to interpret Murex logs, trace errors across layers, and document findings for resolution
