Compensation: $145,000 - $165,000 / year + benefits + bonus
ABOUT OUR CLIENT / ABOUT THIS ROLE
Medix is currently seeking a Data Analytics Engineer for a full-time, career opportunity with one of our best Real Estate and Investment clients, headquartered downtown Chicago.
This role will be working in a Corporate Analytics team to provide data-driven insights and decision support, using primarily Python and Apache/ Cloud based tool sets.
This role is on-site, several days per week in Downtown Chicago / Loop - accessible by public transit, and a short walk from both Chicago Union Station and Ogilvie Transportation Center - If you're going to be on-site, this is a great location for anyone living near the CTA or Metra Commuter lines!
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serving as a Senior Data Analytics Engineer - both in technology, and in mentoring junior team members.
- Working in a business-facing role for requirements discovery, analysis and capture. This role will be working with Directors and Executives from across the business to custom-tailor Analytics solutions. Strong presentation and communication skills are a must.
- Working with Python to extract data from APIs. Using web-scraping and natural language tools to extract and scrape unstructured data from the web. Our client's systems are API-heavy, and involve CSV and JSON formats that are unstructured, messy, and need to be transformed. This role will be using Python libraries to achieve transformation goals.
- This role needs to be able to present the data in a visual form - whether through simple graphs or through more robust visualization (Power BI, Tableau, etc). Being able to tell a compelling story with the data is important.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Local to Chicago - Willing to work ONSITE several days / week
- Senior-level (7-10 years of professional experience)
- Analytics focused - experience with Python Libraries
- Expertise with Python and SQL for data refinement
- Expertise with Apache tools - NiFi, AirFlow, Kafka
- Experience with RabbitMQ or similar MQ / Message brokers
- Experience working with AWS ecosystems preferred

This job is a hybrid on-site 3 days / week in Downtown Chicago. The interview process may include on-site interviews. Candidates must currently live in the Chicagoland area for consideration
