Sr. Software Engineer
Remote
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will have a deep expertise in Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, and a strong understanding of modern web development practices. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our core applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the stability and performance of our systems. A strong proficiency with Jekyll for static site generation, Git for version control, and AWS CloudWatch for monitoring and alerting is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust web applications using Ruby on Rails.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in TypeScript to build interactive and responsive user interfaces.
- Manage and deploy static websites using Jekyll, including template customization and content management.
- Utilize Git for all version control, including branching, merging, and pull requests, while adhering to team best practices.
- Implement and manage monitoring and alerting using AWS CloudWatch to ensure system health and performance.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define, architect, and deliver new features.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring high-availability and reliability of our applications.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to inform architectural decisions and development strategies.
Qualifications:
- Proven professional experience with Ruby on Rails.
- Expertise in TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks.
- Solid experience with static site generators, particularly Jekyll.
- Strong command of Git, including advanced workflows and collaboration.
- Hands-on experience with AWS CloudWatch for monitoring, logging, and alerting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
