Title: Data Modeler
Location: Reston, VA,
Duration: Long Term

Job Description:
Key aspects include the need for expertise in data modeling, data governance, and familiarity with specific tools and environments.
• Role overview: The data modeler will support multiple scrum teams by modeling fields for new events, working closely with product owners and the enterprise data governance team to ensure proper naming and enumeration standards.
• Technical skills required: Candidates should be well-versed in both relational and dimensional modeling, with experience in AWS environments, specifically RDS and Redshift, and handling data migration projects involving interfaces and event loading.
• Data formats and tools: The team primarily works with JSON data received from upstream systems, and ER Studio is the essential tool for data modeling across the enterprise. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is expected for documentation and presentations.
• Location and work schedule: The position requires the candidate to be in Reston and attend the office three days a week; remote work or other locations such as Plano are not acceptable.
• Candidate background preferences: While prior experience at Client or Freddie Mac is preferred for familiarity with terminology and acronyms, it is not a mandatory requirement.
• Employment type and conversion: The role is primarily for a data modeler rather than a data analyst, and while conversion to full-time employment is preferred, it is not mandatory. Contractors are considered acceptable.

The top three skills that vendors need to focus on for the data modeler position are:
1. Data Modeling Expertise: The candidate should be well-versed in both relational and dimensional modeling. This includes the ability to work with the enterprise data governance team to ensure proper naming and enumeration standards
2. Experience with AWS Environments: The candidate should have experience working in AWS environments, specifically with RDS and Redshift. This includes handling data migration projects involving interfaces and event loading
