Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mainframe Developer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with mainframe systems and technologies such as COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS. You will be responsible for maintaining, developing, and enhancing our legacy systems to support business operations and ensure performance, reliability, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, code, test, and debug mainframe applications and batch jobs.
- Analyze system specifications and translate system requirements into software applications.
- Maintain and enhance existing mainframe applications, ensuring minimal downtime and system stability.
- Write and maintain technical documentation for programs and systems.
- Provide production support, identify issues, and implement effective solutions.
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and implement appropriate mainframe solutions.
- Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery planning.
- Monitor system performance and make recommendations for improvements.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and industry regulations.
Proficiency in:
- COBOL
- JCL (Job Control Language)
- CICS
- DB2 or IMS databases
- VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method)
- TSO/ISPF
