Role: Lead Back-End Solution Architect

Location: Mclean, VA

Requirements

We are seeking a hands-on Tech Lead / Solution Architect to lead backend architecture and solution design The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in Java, Python/Pyspark, AWS, and microservices architecture, coupled with deep domain experience in the mortgage industry.

· Lead design and implementation of scalable microservice-based backend architectures.

· Define and enforce solution architecture and security architecture patterns across platforms.

· Collaborate with product and data teams to design and optimize data architecture and integration patterns.

· Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.

· Partner with stakeholders to align technology solutions with business objectives.

· Evaluate new technologies and drive modernization efforts within the backend ecosystem.

· 10+ years of progressive backend engineering and architecture experience.

· Strong hands-on expertise with:

o    Java+Spring Boot

o    Python/PySpark

o    PostgreSQL, MongoDB

o    AWS cloud services

· Proven experience designing microservices and data-driven architectures.

· Strong understanding of security design patterns and compliance considerations.

· Prior experience within the mortgage, financial services, or housing industry is highly preferred.

· Excellent communication and leadership skills to engage cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.

· Experience leading multi-pod Agile teams in a complex enterprise environment.

· Exposure to CI/CD, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and DevOps practices.

· AWS Certification (Architect or Developer) is a plus.
