Location: Cambridge, MA
Salary: $70.00 USD Hourly - $100.00 USD Hourly
Description: We're looking for a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced power systems across a range of mission-critical applications. You'll work on miniature power conversion, distributed architectures, battery management, motor controllers, and precision feedback systems. This role combines deep technical expertise with cross-functional collaboration and strategic thinking.

This job will have the following responsibilities:
  • Architect and implement power system designs for high-performance applications.
  • Lead development of hardware including miniature power conversion circuits, distributed power architectures, and radiation-hardened designs.
  • Optimize systems for size, weight, power efficiency, and reliability.
  • Translate product requirements into technical specifications and production-ready designs.
  • Analyze and validate hardware configurations against performance and compliance standards.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in power electronics, contributing to advanced architectures and design strategies.
  • Identify and mitigate system-level technical risks.
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines and communicate project status to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in power system design.
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal writing and customer engagement.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to drive project success.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in power electronics design.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools.
  • Experience with SPICE or equivalent circuit simulation tools.
  • Strong foundation in applied mathematics and physics.
  • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
    • Expertise in one or more of the following: isolated/non-isolated DC/DC conversion, rectification, inversion, battery management systems, motor controller design, system-level power distribution, grounding/shielding, and EMC techniques.
    • Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, or similar modeling tools.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering efforts.
    • Active security clearance.
