Job Details
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification from ARDMS
- Active license in any U.S. State, Territory, or District
- Minimum 2 years of full-time experience in a cath and/or EP lab
- Must have performed lab procedures at least 12 months within the past 24 months
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and cardiac rhythms
🛠 Key Responsibilities
- Serve as first assist to the Cardiologist during all procedures
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot:
- Fluoroscopy systems (e.g., Philips, Siemens)
- Hemodynamic monitors, pressure wires, IVUS, OCT, FFR, ACIST
- Intravascular ultrasound, intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), Impella, and other advanced devices
- Prepare sterile field, scrub in, assist with vascular access, and manage all required instrumentation (stents, catheters, sheaths, etc.)
- Support procedures including:
- Right/left heart caths, coronary angiography, PCI
- Pacemaker/ICD implantation, EP studies, radiofrequency and cryoablation
- Transseptal puncture, structural heart interventions (e.g., TAVR)
- Perform quality checks on all lab equipment (daily and per procedure)
- Monitor and document patient vitals, cardiac rhythms, oxygenation, and lab data
- Use CPRS and PACS systems for scheduling, documentation, and imaging
- Maintain logs and reports for QA/QI and regulatory compliance
💼 Additional Duties
- Assist with emergency response and CPR during cardiac arrest
- Maintain inventory, track sterile supplies, ensure medication checks
- Participate in continuing education and lab in-services
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, Joint Commission, and VA policy standards
