Job Details
We are seeking to hire an Infrastructure Lead to join our team working on a multi-year award we have within a division of the US Dept of Energy, located in Washington, DC. This role is hybrid, with 2-3 days per week required onsite in the DC office.
Being a US Cit only is required for passing the Security Clearance (Dual Cit will not pass the clearance requirements).
This position pays a strong salary package with full benefits (including choice of healthcare plans, dental, vision, life insurance, 3 weeks PTO, 11 Paid Federal Holidays, and a matching 401k).
An option for working on an hourly rate is also available for those not needing a full benefits package.

Introduction
As the Infrastructure Lead, you oversee the three critical pillars that ensure the stability and efficiency of our technology ecosystem:
- Network & Data Center: Managing core networking infrastructure and data center operations to ensure high availability, security, and scalability.
- Infrastructure Management (On-Premise & Azure): Maintaining and optimizing Windows and Red Hat servers, storage area networks, virtualization platforms, Active Directory, Citrix environments, and backup/recovery solutions.
- Endpoint Management: Leading the support and administration of Intune, Microsoft 365, and desktop engineering to enhance user experience and security across enterprise devices.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure Availability & Stability Across All Three Pillars: Oversee system uptime, network reliability, endpoint performance, and infrastructure optimization. Proactive monitoring and swift issue resolution are essential.
- Define Roles & Responsibilities: Provide clear guidance to engineers, administrators, and support staff to ensure alignment across networking, infrastructure, and endpoint management functions.
- Maintain Service Management Standards: Ensure timely updates to ServiceNow tickets and Azure DevOps (ADO) boards to reflect infrastructure changes, incident resolutions, and planned upgrades. Conduct regular quality assurance checks.
- Reporting & Analytics: Deliver structured reports on system performance, incident trends, and infrastructure health. Data-driven decision-making will ensure proactive risk mitigation and continuous service improvement.
- Mentoring & Talent Development: Guide team members through technical challenges and professional growth within networking, infrastructure, and endpoint management. Provide mentorship, technical coaching, and career development support.
- Drive Infrastructure Modernization & Optimization: Spearheaded innovation initiatives, including cloud adoption, automation, and operational efficiencies across networking, infrastructure, and endpoint management.
- Address and Reduce Technology Debt: Evaluate outdated systems, unsupported hardware and software, and legacy components across all three pillars. Develop strategic roadmaps to migrate operations toward supported, efficient, and future-proof solutions.
- Ensure Lifecycle Management of Infrastructure Assets: Conduct regular assessments to validate hardware and software versions, ensuring compliance with security policies and industry best practices. Oversee timely upgrades and replacements.
- Maintain & Evolve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Continuously refine SOPs to align with technological advancements, security protocols, and best practices across networking, infrastructure, and endpoint management.
- Strategic Alignment Through Meetings & Collaboration: Participate in weekly leadership meetings and cross-functional discussions to coordinate priorities, address challenges, and align technology strategies with business objectives.
- Resource & Capacity Management: Assess capacity needs, resource utilization, and potential risks across all three pillars. Escalate conflicting priorities to leadership for resolution.
