Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Scrum Master with strong domain expertise in Reinsurance/Insurance and a background in Data Engineering projects. The ideal candidate should be adept at driving Agile processes, facilitating key ceremonies, and supporting large-scale Agile Release Trains (ARTs) while ensuring continuous improvement and delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Scrum Master for cross-functional data engineering teams in a hybrid work environment.

  • Apply Scrum principles and Agile best practices to drive delivery of data engineering solutions.

  • Hands-on with JIRA configuring Agile boards, managing product/sprint backlogs, JIRA Dashboards, and using JQL for customized reporting.

  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies: Daily Stand-ups (DSU), Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Retrospectives.

  • Conduct backlog grooming sessions and guide Product Owners (POs) and teams on estimation and story prioritization.

  • Report on Agile delivery metrics including velocity, sprint completion rate, and defect churn to stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with Agile Release Train (ART) leads and Release Train Engineers (RTE) for PI planning, execution, and reviews.

  • Support the team in meeting Program Increment (PI) objectives and managing impediments across ARTs.

  • Oversee production deployments, monitor release cadence, and manage warranty support post-release.

  • Encourage continuous improvement through feedback loops, agile coaching, and motivation.

  • Promote CI/CD practices, test automation, and collaboration through Scrum of Scrums (SoS).

  • Evaluate team skills and recommend actionable plans for capability improvement.

  • Conduct business workshops and drive the documentation of functional and non-functional requirements.

  • Work closely with Technical Leads and Architects to support technical decisions and maintain architectural alignment.

  • Possess strong understanding of cloud-based data engineering architectures and enterprise data platforms.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of experience as a Scrum Master with proven success in data engineering teams.

  • 3-5 years of domain experience in Reinsurance or Insurance a strong plus.

  • Solid experience in Agile and SAFe frameworks.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
