Job Details

ASSYST is seeking a Project Management Specialist to support our government customer based in Tallahassee, Florida.
This position is 100% onsite Location: Tallahassee, Florida
Scope of Work:

  • Serves as the principal line of communication for the project team.
  • Designs, implements, evaluates, and audits project management processes and templates for the Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Compiles metrics relating to IT project success, project attributes, individual productivity, and adherence to defined processes.
  • Tracks costs, performance, service levels, and other metrics to ensure project goals and objectives are met.
  • Assists project managers and leaders with implementing project management processes and making improvements.
  • Provides administrative support to project managers and leaders.
  • Ensures project control systems are in place and integrates project data for decision-makers.
  • Administers and maintains project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project Server).
  • Organizes and publishes project-related documentation.
  • Applies knowledge of project management tools, methods, and best practices such as PMBOK.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or four (4) years of equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of project support and/or management experience.
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience managing projects with a large, distributed user base.
  • Experience managing state government projects and familiarity with Rule 60GG-1, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C).
  • Experience managing vendor projects and working with technical programming teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take initiative.
  • Knowledge of IT standards in a criminal justice environment.
  • Strong negotiation, mediation, facilitation, and team-building skills.
  • Team player attitude with high energy and a diligent work ethic.
