One of my clients is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to drive the strategy, design, and delivery of secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership, overseeing a DevOps team while solving meaningful challenges in deployment, monitoring, automation, and operationalization of large-scale systems.

Details:



  • Permanent, Full-Time Position

  • Salary: $180,000 - $210,000 + Bonus + Benefits

  • Hybrid (2 Days per Week) - Boston, MA



Responsibilities



  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of scalable and secure infrastructure (cloud and on-premise).

  • Build, mentor, and guide a high-performing DevOps team; provide technical leadership and career development.

  • Drive DevOps strategy, tooling, and automation across development, testing, and production environments.

  • Architect, build, and optimize CI/CD pipelines

  • Implement and enforce Infrastructure as Code

  • Monitor and improve systems performance, availability, and reliability; implement observability best practices (metrics, logs, alerts).

  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for outages or performance issues.

  • Ensure security best practices and compliance across infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD workflows

  • Collaborate with development, QA, operations, security, and product teams to streamline deployments and deliver end-to-end solutions.



Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Systems Administration.

  • 2+ years in a leadership role (team lead, manager, or principal-level).

  • Strong expertise in AWS

  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (Python, Bash)

  • Expertise with CI/CD frameworks and automation tooling

  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and observability tools
