We are currently seeking a Scrum Master to join our team in Canada.
Summary:
- Our client is seeking a Scrum Master Service Provider to support them by creating the conditions for the team to frequently deliver high-user value / high-quality products, allow the team to self-organize, remove impediments, shield the team from outside distractions, and continuously promote and support the team's use of Agile and Scrum.
- The Scrum Master Service Provider is to focus on developing a new and innovative solution for aggregating and displaying company information will be a facilitator who supports team members in applying Agile practices, processes, and behaviors for executing effectively and with quality; raises the performance of delivery teams through impediment management, continuous improvement, and ceremony facilitation.
- Ensure compliance and continuous improvement of Agile events and project/program management practices.
- Support the Product Owner to ensure teams actions are aligned with the Product goals, vision, and roadmap.
- Identify and action impediments that interfere with team progress and achievement of the team's goals (for example, using burndown charts at stand-ups, reviewing OKRs (Objective and Key Results) on an ongoing basis, identifying risks etc.).
- Ability to implement, navigate, communicate, and decipher trends using team metrics (e.g., throughput, cycle time), DevOps/ IT metrics along with barometer scores and progress against OKRs.
- Clear obstacles in the team's path (for example, dependencies on other teams), maintain a list of risks, impediments, and improvements.
- Facilitate team events (planning sessions, retrospectives, mid-cycle reviews, and demos).
- Organize the processes of decomposition and story/task estimation.
- Co-ordinate cross-team technology dependencies.
- Coordinate interaction with other teams and any other relevant product level synchronizations.
- Support identification of trade-offs between short-term and long-term benefits to drive shared vision between the team and Product Owner.
- Identify ways to strengthen teams' understanding and adoption of Agile concepts and principles.
- Foster a continuous learning environment, helping teams to inspect and adapt.
- Role model and coach Agile behaviors as needed.
- Complex stakeholder management.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of trust through facilitation of retrospectives and feedback exchange among team members.
- Bring transparency to Business and IT organizations about team and Product development.
- Bring an element of project management skills to the team to assist in planning larger initiatives that require an organized timeline.
- Capable of delivering effective coaching to squad members to help achieve the full potential of the individual and the squad.
- Strong supporter of squad members by helping them develop necessary skills and Agile expertise.
- Effective collaborator with the Product Owner and squad to drive towards achieving Product Vision and OKRs.
- Familiar with Agile and leverages relevant frameworks (e.g., Scrum or Kanban) to optimize squad outcomes.
- Minimum 5 years' experience working as a Scrum Master.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Project Management, Program Management or Business Analysis.
- Must have a Scrum Master certification (e.g., DASM, DASSM, PSM).
- Must have knowledge of Azure Dev Ops (ADO).
- Must have knowledge of Planview Portfolios AgilePlace.
- Advanced knowledge of the software SDLC, Agile principles, Scrum Framework and Kanban.
- Knowledge of data analytics platforms such as PowerBI, SAS Viya, Informatica MDM, SQL Server, etc.
- Must have a Federal Security Clearance at Reliability level.
- Must have a Canadian university degree or college/CEGEP diploma related to computer science, business administration, IT or the equivalent as established by a recognized Canadian academic credentials assessment service. A copy of the degree or diploma must be provided upon request.
- Experience working in Technology, financial services, federal crown corporation, Data and information management.
- Knowledge of Data ecosystems, Ei, ITIL, IT Service Management and IT Operations.
- Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
- Located in the National Capital Region (Ottawa) is an asset.
