Description:
The Manager of Database, Linux, and Monitoring Management within IT Infrastructure is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the Database Management, Linux Management, and Monitoring System Management teams. This individual will provide strategic direction, ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability of IT infrastructure components, and foster a collaborative environment to drive continuous improvement and innovation. The ideal candidate will possess a high-level understanding of technologies, exceptional management skills, and the ability to align IT operations with organizational goals and objectives, with a particular focus on enhancing the value and effectiveness of the organization's monitoring solutions.

Must have a minimum of 10 years of related experience managing and leading teams providing operational support to the Data Centers, Network Operations Center (NOC), and Disaster Recovery (DR) team.

Duties: Responsible for managing and overseeing the operational support within the Data Centers, NOC, and DR team. Manages and assigns tasks and deliverables. Demonstrates required technical skills as well as the ability to organize, direct, and coordinate the planning and execution of all tasks and deliverables assigned. Creates and establishes new standards and procedures and translates high-level work plans into detailed assignments for team members. Monitors and tracks progress of project and work plan.

Location: Onsite in Washington, DC Metro Area

Rate: $80-$90/hr. W2

Responsibilities:
Lead a team of Infrastructure Engineers and manage the Database Management, Linux Management, and Monitoring System Management teams, providing strategic direction and fostering a collaborative work environment.

Develop and implement strategic plans for monitoring systems to maximize their value, effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals.

Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of database systems, Linux servers, and monitoring solutions.

Ensure compliance with DOT policies and procedures, including security, backup, recovery, and audit profiles across all managed systems.

Coordinate and manage database refreshes, data imports/exports, and replication procedures to support business operations.

Implement and administer appropriate monitoring tools, ensuring consistent performance monitoring, proactive issue detection, and effective alerting.

Manage server administration and engineering tasks for Linux, including commissioning, modifying, decommissioning, and migrating virtual servers.

Ensure timely patching, upgrading, and deployment of server operating systems and applications, maintaining system integrity and security.

Oversee incident management, troubleshooting, and resolution for database, Linux, and monitoring system issues.

Drive the optimization and continuous improvement of monitoring systems, ensuring comprehensive visibility into infrastructure performance and health.

Ensure timely patching, upgrading, and deployment of server operating systems and applications, maintaining system integrity and security.

Oversee incident management, troubleshooting, and resolution for database, Linux, and monitoring system issues.

Experience Requirements:
Must have a minimum of 10 years of related experience managing and leading teams providing operational support to the Data Centers, Network Operations Center (NOC), and Disaster Recovery (DR) team.

Extensive experience with database management, Linux server administration, and monitoring systems, with a strong emphasis on maximizing the value and effectiveness of monitoring solutions

Proven track record of leading and managing technical teams, providing strategic direction, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide technical assistance, engage with stakeholders, and effectively coordinate with application developers and third-party vendors.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required


Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
