Project / Program Manager

Location : Remote (Chicago, IL, Peoria, IL, Dallas, TX or Westminster CO offices)

Pay Rate: $65 - $70/hr W2

Duration: 12 months contract followed by Fulltime Hire

Note: Full remote however this role has potential to go direct, with that said, the worker need to be already be in one of the hubs ( listed above).

Job Description

Leads the planning, coordination, and execution of Search platform initiatives, including upgrades and migrations. Oversees cross-functional collaboration with engineering and operations teams to resolve technical issues, improve indexing performance, and ensure platform stability. Communicates project status and technical updates to stakeholders through structured reporting and meetings. Drives issue resolution and supports documentation and planning for future enhancements.

Education & Experience Required:

  • 10+ years of PM experience
  • Bachelor's degree in technical fields such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
  • PMI or PMP certification preferred.

Technical Skills

(Required)

  • Agile Methodologies, specifically Scrum.

(Desired)

  • Scrum Master certification and Scrum Master experience
  • Search technologies such as Lucidworks, Solr, etc.
  • Security & Compliance Awareness: Knowledge of data protection, access control, and audit readiness.

Soft Skills

(Required)

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Works closely with engineering, operations, product, and vendor teams to align goals and resolve issues.
  • Relationship management with challenging partners (3rd Party)
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management: Regularly communicates project status, risks, and decisions to stakeholders through structured reporting and meetings.
  • Leadership & Influence: Leads meetings, drives initiatives, and influences without direct authority.
