Contract Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Azure Cosmos DB Architect / DBA to lead the design, implementation, optimization, and support of Azure Cosmos DB solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud-native database architectures, particularly in Microsoft Azure, and hands-on experience with NoSQL data models, distributed systems, and performance tuning.

Contract Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Azure Cosmos DB Architect / DBA to lead the design, implementation, optimization, and support of Azure Cosmos DB solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud-native database architectures, particularly in Microsoft Azure, and hands-on experience with NoSQL data models, distributed systems, and performance tuning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design scalable and high-performing data models using Azure Cosmos DB (SQL API, MongoDB API, Cassandra API, etc.)
- Architect and implement Cosmos DB solutions as part of larger cloud-based applications and platforms.
- Administer and monitor Cosmos DB instances for performance, availability, security, and cost optimization.
- Collaborate with application developers, data engineers, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless database integration.
- Implement and manage data migration, replication, and synchronization strategies from on-prem or other cloud databases to Cosmos DB.
- Define partitioning strategies, indexing policies, consistency models, and throughput provisioning.
- Automate deployments and database operations using ARM templates, Bicep, PowerShell, or Terraform.
- Provide guidance and best practices for Cosmos DB scalability, security, and governance.
- Conduct capacity planning and cost estimation for Cosmos DB workloads.
- Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions in production environments.
