Job Overview:

The client is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer (Sr NE) to implement and provide support to the agency's IT Network infrastructure. The Sr NE performs day-to-day activities related to the support and documentation of clients Network infrastructure.

Candidate must have in-depth, considerable knowledge and hands-on experience understanding, documenting, and maintaining Network related infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Considerable knowledge and working experience with enterprise routers, switches, VPN concentrators, firewalls, wireless access points, and load balancers (including the ability to document, set up, configure, upgrade, manage, and troubleshoot)
  • Be capable of troubleshooting Network related infrastructure.
  • Identifies and diagnoses system problems by using line monitors, diagnostic software, test equipment.
  • Works closely with agency's IT infrastructure suppliers and stakeholders to gather requirements, specifications, and configurations to assure they are accurate and up to date.
  • Responsible for assisting in troubleshooting and resolving network issues impacting application performance and uptime.
  • Assist in overseeing the installation, documentation, and upgrades of various agency facility data network infrastructure.
  • Will oversee and collaborate with cloud and DevSecOps teams to optimize hybrid connectivity and SDWAN configurations.
  • Must have the ability to provide documentation, network architecture topology diagrams, IP schemes, firewall rules, and access controls when required.
  • Must have the ability to work independently on assigned projects.
  • Must have minimally obtained an industry standard networking certification (example: Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA- Junos, etc.)
