Job Description:

Designs/creates/updates training materials for electronic health record implementations. Creates and tests instructor-led and printable training materials and/or computer-based training (CBT) to support the release of new software. Participates as a member of a remote team with remote leadership, staying flexible to switch roles as projects progress.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Apply adult learning theories and methodologies to design, develop, update and maintain computer-based courses and supplemental training materials
  • Use established Style Guide for training content creation
  • Employ Rapid Development Software (such as Captivate, Camtasia and Articulate) to create storyboards and develop interactive computer-based courseware
  • Write EHR scripts from ILT training for video and audio content
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, functional analysts, solution architects, clinicians and application owners to develop course content
  • Review, compile and analyze ILT material and make recommendations for training modifications
  • Actively participate in peer review sessions and offer constructive comment with the intent of improving the team's products and services
  • Interact with multiple vendor partners, coworkers, and the government client from a remote work setting; Attend meetings as part of internal and external collaboration
  • Support team ideas and initiatives that contribute to the success of the customer program/project

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or relate degree OR extensive experience developing and delivering Cerner EHR training courses to a variety of audiences4 years' experience developing and delivering training courses to a variety of audiences
  • with ability to obtain and maintain an ADP IT-II Public Trust Clearance based on the minimum of a Tier 3 investigation. Federal Government requirement
  • Authoring ability using Adobe Captivate, Camtasia and Articulate Storyline
  • Experience using Microsoft Word templates
  • Experience working with remote teams and leadership
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with a solid knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
  • Familiar with ADA Section 508c accessibility requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with electronic health record training content and/or healthcare industry
  • Extensive experience using Adobe Captivate, Camtasia and Articulate Storyline
  • Extensive knowledge of converting training materials into scripts for video and audio content
  • Prior knowledge of navigating within a Cerner electronic health record
