Job Details
Role: Database Administrator / Data Architect (Advanced)
Location: Tallahassee, FL (We are looking for candidates who are currently located in Florida for this role).
Duration: 12+ months
Professional Requirements:
The database administrator consultant is required to have professional working experience at an advance level to carry out the following job duties.
- SQL Server Experience: Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server from version 2012 to 2017.
- Microsoft Clustering Services: Implementation and management of clustering services.
- Installation & Configuration: Installing and configuring SQL Server instances.
- Operating System & Interoperability: Ensuring the smooth integration of SQL Server with the operating system and other applications.
- Regular Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance tasks on SQL Server.
- Backups & Disaster Recovery: Implementing backup strategies and disaster recovery procedures.
- Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving performance or operational issues.
- Security: Managing database security, user permissions, and access controls.
- Performance Optimization & Tuning: Analysing and optimizing SQL queries and server performance.
- Database & Objects Administration: Administering databases and objects, including tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures.
- Scheduled Jobs Management: Managing and troubleshooting SQL Server Agent jobs and tasks.
- Triggers: Creating and maintaining triggers within the database.
- Data Transfers & Replication: Managing data transfer, replication processes, and ensuring smooth data synchronization.
- Design & Development: Designing and developing database schemas, including creating tables, relationships, and views.
- Stored Procedures Review: Writing, reviewing, and optimizing stored procedures for efficiency.
- Table Creation on Production Servers: Creating and managing tables on production servers.
- DTS/SSIS Packages: Creating and managing Data Transformation Services (DTS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages.
- Field Additions: Adding fields to existing tables on production servers.
- Bulk Copy Operations: Managing bulk data load processes.
- Data Conversion & Cleansing: Handling data conversion and performing data cleansing tasks.
- Software Upgrades: Planning and executing software upgrades for SQL Server instances.
- Data Archiving: Implementing archiving strategies for data retention and compliance.
- Data Dictionary Creation: Creating and maintaining a data dictionary for all database objects.
- Data Model Creation & Modification: Designing and modifying data models to ensure data integrity.
- Documentation: Creating and maintaining detailed documentation for database systems and processes.
- Transactional Replication: Configuring and managing transactional replication in SQL Server.
- Source Control Management: Managing source control using SQL Prompt and SQL Compare tools.
- Proactive Monitoring: Implementing proactive monitoring to ensure database systems run securely with minimal downtime.
